Children

The Hope Kids environments are specially designed to engage your child in exciting activities and Bible lessons that are specifically created for their age group. Hope Kids is a place for children to connect with other children and with a caring adult while learning how to follow Jesus. Our leaders are dedicated to providing a safe, loving, and encouraging environment for your child. Hope Kids Littles is for children ages Birth to K4 and Hope Kids Bigs is for children ages K5-Grade 5.

What to Expect

Check-in:
At the time of check-in, a trained leader will greet you. First time families will need to fill out a registration card, so please arrive in plenty of time to complete this card. Each child will have an adhesive name-tag placed on their clothes; this name-tag will match the security tag provided to you, at check-in. Your security tag will need to be presented at the time of pick up. For your child’s protection, they will not be released without the correct tag. If your child needs special attention during the service, we will post the ID number from your security tag on the screens, so you can check on your child.

As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This doesn’t last long and separation becomes easier over time. Our caring leaders will immediately try to soothe your child while assuring them that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of 10 minutes, we will notify you through the procedures outlined above.

What to bring:
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:

  1. Two or three disposable diapers. Please no cloth diapers.
  2. Pacifier or other item should your child need it for security.
  3. A complete change of clothes.
  4. A bottle of milk, formula, juice or water. (This is a good practice even for mothers who nurse.)

Please label all personal items with your child’s first and last name before arriving at your child’s class

Curriculum:
We offer age appropriate curriculum. The curriculum contains the following structure based on age: play centers and crafts, Bible story with a themed memory verse; sing-a-long, and snacks.
Pre-K: There may be an occasion where your child will travel to the outside to the playground, weather permitting. Please send your child with a sweater for cooler days.

Snacks:
Snacks are provided for your child once they graduate to the crawler/new walker classroom. The food items consist of “Cheerios” or a similar snack for crawlers and vanilla wafers or a similar snack for our new walkers and toddlers. Please inform the leader if your child has any food allergies.

Your Child’s Health:
We operate a well-baby program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the program while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our Hope Kids environments a healthy place.

Ready … Set … Go …
After your child has been dropped off in their proper environment, they will have the opportunity to participate in activities with other children their age. Once the service begins, the children will participate in an exciting and energetic time of worship, skits and games, a live or video Bible lesson, followed by small groups to further discuss the lesson on their age level and to pray together.

NOTE: If your child has any food allergies or special needs physically, please notify a Hope Kids worker.
